Historical Background and introduction

Historical Background and introduction: The Chamber of Commerce of Tangier was founded in 1947, under the name of “the Moroccan Chamber of Commerce”, at the initiative of a number of local traders. Its competence extended to Tangier-Asilah. In 1958, the Chamber was governed by a Dahir on the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Morocco. On April 2nd, 2014, a framework convention was concluded to promote the role of the Chamber in accordance with the regional approach of Morocco. Thus, the Chamber became a representative of trade, industry and services sectors in the Region of Tangier-Tetouan Al Hoceima.

Historical Background and introduction: The Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services in the Tangiers-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region is a public institution with a legal personality and financial autonomy, under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Green and Digital Economy.The Chamber represents the professionals of trade, industry and services sectors in the region of Tangier-Tetouan Al Hoceima, before local, regional, provincial and national public authorities, as well as international organizations and institutions working in its fields of work.

Every trader, company and service provider subject to professional tax and belongs to the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region is a member of the Chamber.

Making the region Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima economically strong, fair and promote solidarity for sustainable development.

Assisting traders, companies, and service providers to develop the region, by representing and supporting them, and by ensuring economic promotion locally and regionally.
